I recently reinstalled FontLab Studio (latest version) in Windows 7. Now, when I double click a .vfb, it opens a new instance of FontLab. If I open 10 .vfb files, 10 FontLabs open. I had previously installed FontLab in Windows 7 and had no problems.
Does anyone know how I can prevent a .vfb from opening a new instance of FontLab? I know I can drag & drop or file/open to work around this problem but I'm hoping there's another way.
Perhaps related: help/about doesn't function anymore.

I assume, that’s a problem, which is not FontLab specific. I am on XP (German), but on XP I would start the explorer and open the menu Extras / directory (folder?) properties / file types. And then I would check, which commands are stored there.

The problem eventually went away on its own. The about page is showing up too.
Now the key combo for paste special no longer works. I tried changing the keyboard assignment but no combination will work. Now I'm using a custom button for paste special. FontLab Studio is a mysterious piece of software.

Is there any way to make Windows use only one instance of Fontlab?
