Fontlab Studio 5.1 Hinting Bug

Using the new FontLab Studio update (build 4311) under OSX 10.5.8.
When I open a glyph window and select (ctrl) autohinting all of the hints disappear and the outlines disappear - if I press (cmd Z) undo the outlines do not come back, I have open up my bak file to get back the outlines.
This is not happening everytime I use autohinting - seems to happen about 25% of the time I use it.
