Hi,

I am creating my first font in FontLab 4.6 - and now using FontLab Studio 5.0.  It's finished (I think) but am sorting out a few issues...  one of which is the emdash and endash characters, which look far wider in Word 2007 than they are in any other program (like CorelDraw, Illustrator or InDesign). Also, in Word 2007, the endash and emdash encroach upon the area of the character which appears before and after the endash and emdash... as an example A–A and A—A. The endash and emdash overlap the 'A' character on one or both sides...

The endash and emdash characters work fine in CorelDraw, illustrator and InDesign - it's only MS Word 2007 that I have this problem.

endash U+2013
Glyph cell width: 664 (same width as letter cap N)
emdash U+2014
Glyph cell width: 870 (same width as letter cap M)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Hairdocat

I think the problem is Word 2007...

Tested the font in Word 2010 - and the en dash and em dash are fine...
