You might want to check your "mirror sites" setting, and make sure that your site is included in that list. This is the most common reason why people fail to use embedded fonts on the web.

Hi Simran,

Without a link to your html page at your server, it's difficult to help out.

Are your internet options set to download fonts? Everything may be ok as you indicated that you see the font being downloaded on the status bar.

The "mirror sites" aka "bind roots" are set during the "Create Font Objects" stage of the wizard. You'll find a box labled "Fonts may only be used under this root" here. You need to make sure that you have listed your  web site(s) in this box.

Your eot seems to contain the correct allowed root -

http://www.simsimindia.com

However no local drive eg 'file://c' is included so there's no way it is working locally. Try working through the second tutorial posted on the typography Web site and embed the complete font with no subsetting,

MIME type?

what would be MIME type for NT server? If  I were to contact my ISP what should I ask them?

and same for Linux/Unix servers?

I don't think this is a factor. See the MIME FAQ for details. Note that it's pointless looking at server issues until you get the test working on a local machine.

Helllo Si,

Test on local Machine works. I had create another .eot file, which only points at local d:/ drive and it works just fine. (after uninstalling the fonts)

Hello simran,

I took a careful look at your html source and SIMRANT0[1].eot header, and don't understand why it's not working.

If you have a few minutes, here's what I would like you to do:

Recreate your eot font and upload to your server ... only this name, bind both your local and server URL's. This single eot font should serve you for your local Pc and your server. Assuming drive D on your local system, the Bind entry for WEFT should be:

file://d:;http://www.simsimindia.com/

Incidentally, you need not reinstall the font locally ... just use Add Off-line fonts , and Expert Create Fonts . Be aware that, if you have existing eot versions of the font, WEFT will increment.  So if don't want to make a change to your html page, delete your prior versions of the eot font (at least, SIMRANT0[1].eot) before you run WEFT.

Can you also do a screen capture of what the screen should look like, and post it to the Message Board.

What is your native font format ... True Type or Type 1. Were you subsetting your eot font ... the file size is a mere 21K; I would have guessed a much larger size for a Punjabi font.

Good luck,
Gene

Hi simran,

Just a note to correct the typo in my previous message regarding your Punjabi font; the name should be

SIMRANT0.eot

I inadvertantly copied the name from the Windows cache.

Thanks Everyone,

The MIME and file extension were not enabled at the server.
