Hello friends, I am new to this technology and the group (newbie). I am trying for hindi website using dynamic fonts. I used MS WEFT (latest version) to convert the hindi font Shusha. I made one test page to check its functionality but the result is not satisfactory. You can check the result on the link given below:

There is extra spaces in between the words and when I tried the same word in a different line using line break then it is perfect then what's the problem, I am not able to identify. What care I should take in typing the content if there is some problem. One more question is related to font conversion in WEFT, what option should I select in subsetting (in the dropdown list). Rest all the things I made correctly by reading instructions in this forum. Is there any direct way to select all the possible words and its combination so that it will not create problem whatever character I use in hindi using the same Shusha font. It is creating problem in some specific word, the line views fine if I remove that specific charater from it. And in other para it works fine and some other character makes this problem.

Looking forward for your expert views about the same.

Hi,
Extra spaces, links being active even after the last word is a common problem of Non-unicode(hack encoded) Indian language fonts, for best results you should use a Unicode encoded font for your hindi website as it will also let your users access your pages from more browsers than just I.E.

your subset selection has no problem as i can see your content and EOT being loaded properly, its not your fault as Hack encoded fonts do show up with extra spaces in most browsers.

See ya,
prabudh

Hi Prabudh,

Thanks for your reply. I will go for Unicode there is no issue about that but the same text is coming fine at some place and not at another place. I took some of the text content from another website which was working fine there and I am also able to see that but on my website it doesn't works. I feel that there is some problem in making eot of the font Shusha. I checked the file size of the EOT's of the other websites and that is much bigger (30-60kb) then mine (16kb). I think I am not subsetting properly. Will you pls tell me what to do to select all possible characters of Hindi. Pls help me out for EOT first. I don't want to drop this here and move to Unicode.

I would like to know if there is some information available for the development using Unicode for Hindi website. All the basic informations, like how one will prepare the content, fonts, rendering, publishing on net. Complete information to help a newbie to develop Hindi website supported by Unicode.
