Hi. I hope you will give a non-techie for asking a question that may have a simple answer.

I am unable to create an .eot file to the server.  When I go through the Weft wizard, everything works until I get to the prompt for username and password.  Front Page pops up and the hourglass stays and stays and refuses to go away.  When I type in my username and password and click ok, then another username/password prompt box pops up--fill it in and the result is the same. All this time the hourglass remains.  When I click cancel, I get the message "Unable to create diploma.eot" or something like that.  I have tried this two or three times, and the result is always the same.  Am I doing something wrong?

Sincerely,
Edwin Dunca

Hi Edwin,

I know Si and Michael can tell you the 'right' way to solve the problem, but... I always place the page HTML in a local file, use that as the location, and make my eot file.  The eot will be placed in the file with the page.  I then use Web Publishing Wizard to upload the eot file to my web files.  If you do this, remember to include your url in the mirror root addresses.

Since you're using FrontPage you can just as easily make an empty web in My Webs, such as Web 12, save the page html into that web folder, and create the eot file, (no password will be required) then use the publish function to upload the html and eot.  Doing it this way, you wont need to copy/paste the <.style thingy at the top of the html page since it will be added by Weft.  You'll still need to add the <.FONT style="FONT-FAMILY:Parisian BT" size="4"> (change to the name of your font) before each place in the html where it's needed.

Edwin, I know you said you're new at this, and it might not seem like it now, but font embedding is a lot of  fun, and Weft is great.  After you get the hang of it you'll be making your eots in less than 2 minutes.  Really!!!

Good luck to you and best wishes.
