How does one add new character groups to VTT - in the vein of UpperCase / LowerCase etc and make them accessible.Bruno MaagDalton Maag Ltdù

There are two areas to set about:

  1. In the control program, introduce new character groups as illustrated in the comments of the CvtTmpl.txt, and compile
  2. In the main window, invoke "Edit Chargroup" repeatedly (a historic name for this function), this will cycle through all character groups.

Step 2 would be required for all characters that share this new character group. Since this is a bit cumbersome, and since for future fonts you may want a similar scheme of character groups, I'd suggest to edit CharGrp.txt instead. Adjust the character group column as appropriate, and run Tools => Prepare font, checking "Import character group" ONLY. If you get an i/o error, double check Tools => Options => File Locations => TrueType Talk, making sure it points to the folder that contains your CharGrp.txt

Hope this helps
