John Hudson With thanks once again for your patience, I'm pleased to announce an exclusive pre-release download from this MSN community of the new SBL Hebrew v1.09 font and a draft of the updated font manual. As you will see from the manual, there are some important changes in this version of the font, some of which may require document updates. Feedback on the manual is particularly welcome at this time, as I want to make sure that it is as clear and helpful as possible before the final text goes live on the SBL website.
The font and the manual can be downloaded from the Documents area of this community:
http://groups.msn.com/SBLFonts/documents.msnwPage 11 of the manual makes reference to some documents that indicate, by chapter and verse, what words in the Bible text are subject to mark reordering during Unicode normalisation form C (presuming marks have been input in the order recommended in the manual). The plan is to produce one such document for each book of the Bible, as an aid to document authors working with particular passages who want to ensure that their texts will be correctly and unambiguously rendered. To date, I have only completed the Genesis document, and it took longer than I had hoped, so I would appreciate feedback on this. Is this kind of document actually useful?
