I'm using XeTeX with SBL Hebrew and it is really very beautiful. While setting the Ten Commandments everything when good until I got to "Don't Steal !" there I came across a small bug in kerning NUN+ZakefKatan+Holem. How or Who can fix this ?

This isn't a 'kerning bug', but may be an application-specific problem with OpenType mark positioning.

The accentuation of the Ten Commandments is unusual, and I had to include some special layout intelligence in the font in order to display it correctly. You are right that there is a problem with the combination of nun + holam + zakef katan (note order of marks: vowels should always precede accents, even when the accent displays to right of the vowel), but this should be resolved contextually when the bet is added to the end of the word.

I am attaching a screenshot of how this commandment displays in Wordpad under Windows. If you are getting a different result in XeTeX -- with the mark order as specified above -- this may indicate an application incompatibility. If this is the case, I can help you resolve this with the XeTeX developers.

Thank you.
Then nun + holam + zakef katan went fine. But the order here actually was even longer nun + holam + zakef katan + meteg. Even with the complexity of the 10 Commandments with XeTeX everything worked out. (Not so with wordpad) Except this one.

Just a note. I see that even
http://www.tanach.us/Tanach.xml#Ex20:15-20:15
comes out with the same problem with firefox, iexplorer & opera. so it doesn't look like a XeTeX problem but a font one.

Hmm. The meteg doesn't appear in either of my Jewish Tanakh editions  (Dotan BHL and JPS) , but I see that it does occur in the BHK/BHS text.

Yes, this is a font problem, and I'll see if I can figure out a way to fix it. Very complicated!

PS. The actual mark order is going to need to be holam + meteg + zakef katan.
