Hi Everyone,

I just downloaded and installed SBL Hebrew and I'm having trouble with the font size in MS Word. I can't seem to change it to anything other than size 12. Am I doing something wrong?

BTW I'm running Windows XP and MS Word 2000 (9.0.3821 SR-1).

thanks
Charles Grebe

Change to Word 2003.

I'm not familiar with anything that would cause the problem you describe. Word 2000 is pretty old now, and you won't get optimum use of the SBL Hebrew font in that program, but the font size shouldn't be an issue. I would be interested to know if anyone else has the same problem.

Word 2003 is the only version in which we can guarantee that Biblical Hebrew can be correctly rendered with the SBL Hebrew font.

Then I'm guessing that this is a Word 2000 bug. It's a strange one, but in any case there is nothing to be done about it. I'm afraid you will need to upgrade to take full advantage of the SBL Hebrew font.

You might be able to work around the problem by pasting text into WordPad, setting the text size there, and pasting back into Word.

The issue may be that you need to change the size of the Complex Script
font rather than the Latin Text font. These can be set separately in
Word 2002 and 2003, but maybe not in Word 2000 - or there may be a way
to do so in some obscure menu or with a macro.

Typing in Word Pad works with font size changes, and then pasting into Word 2000 keeps the formating.

That works for me until I can upgrade.
