Posted by: EbedYHWH1 Dear Everyone,
I am a Mac user. I have been to revise two of my old books for republication. A research assistant has been putting them into electronic format for me, using a PC with SBL Hebrew. Unfortunately, as John Hudson tells me, MS Word for Mac does not support SBL Hebrew. I have installed Mellel, on his advice; he also says that OpenWriter is a possibility.
Now I have two questions.
The first is that if I save the document in Mellel, will I be able to send it back to my research assistant, who uses Word on a PC, and will the Hebrew come through?
The second is that I noticed on my brief foray into Mellel that it seemed rather difficult to edit main text and endnotes at the same time. Is there a way of doing so, as there is with Word? Would it be best to edit the document in Word, and then save it in Mellel when I have finished with it?
Are there advantages with Mellel v. OpenWriter?
It is very frustrating - why cannot MS Word for Mac support SBL Hebrew?
Anyway, I wonder if the Mac-community among SBL Hebrew users could come up with advice,
Francis
