Posted by: John Hudson This is the detailed install sequence for the keyboard, just to make sure that you are performing all steps (this describe the process in Windows XP; labels may vary slightly in other versions of Windows):
1. Download and run the [BHebSIL.msi] or [BHebTiro.msi} file
2. Open the 'Regional and Languages Options' under the Windows Control Panel
3. Navigate to the 'Languages' panel tab at the top of the 'Regional and Languages Options' window.
4. Make sure that 'Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages' is selected and that the box beside it has a check-mark in it.
5. Click on the 'Details' button near the top of the 'Languages' panel; this will open the 'Settings' panel of the 'Text Services and Input Languages' window. This Window display active keyboards, and your current default keyboard driver.
6. Click the 'Add' button on the right side of this panel; this will open the 'Add input language' dialogue.
7. In the top part of the 'Add input language' dialogue ('Input language:'), select 'Hebrew' from the drop down list of input languages.
8. In the bottom part of the 'Add input language' dialogue ('Keyboard layout/IME:'), select 'Biblical Hebrew (SIL)' from the drop down list of keyboard layouts. [If this keboard layout does not appear in the list, it means that the file has not been correctly run.]
9. Click 'OK' to close the dialogue box.
10. In the 'Text Services and Input Languages' window, you should now see the Biblical Hebrew keyboard in the list of installed services:
Hebrew Keyboard Biblical Hebrew (Tiro)
11. Click 'OK' to accept the new keyboard installation and to close the 'Text Services and Input Languages' window.
12. Close the 'Regional and Language Options' window by clicking 'OK' in it.
A small language selection icon should appear in the lower right of the taskbar, near the clock. Presuming your default keyboard is US English, this icon will contain the letters 'EN'. If you click on this icon, a list of supported languages should appear, from which you can select Hebrew ('HE'). Note that unless you make it your default language, you will need to select the Hebrew keyboard in each application session.
I hope this helps. If you continue to have problems, please let me know at what stage of the above steps the problem occurs, and try to provide as many details as possible.
