I downloaded and installed the New Athena font, but it is a standard font
with the Coptic etc fonts as extra symbols which means I can't actually
*type* in Coptic.  Is there some trick to this?

You'll need to get or create a keyboard layout for the Coptic characters. I
don't know of any yet (the standard is too new), so I started work on one
myself, attached (if the list lets it through). I only have the lower-case
letters included so far.

Ken,
I downloaded the Coptic church fonts, which have the date 2004 and dowload
using an XP wizard, both of which facts hint to me that the fonts are
unicode.  But - I'll be darned - there's no epsee (Greek upsiolon) on the
keyboard for Word, though the letter is there using the popup Coptic
keyboard.

Dear Judy,
When Ken gives you the keyboard, send a copy to me.
Thanks,
Andy
