Correct me if I'm wrong, but on my new laptop running Vista and Office 2007 I found a mark that does the vavless cholem correctly.  So you have two marks - one for cholem on top of vav and one for vavless cholem.  You've got to do some playing around with the INSERT SYMBOL pages to find them.  Remember - you need four dots in all - one for the sin, one for the shin, one for the cholem without vav and one for the cholem with vav.  Whether any of those marks overlap, I haven't figured out.  And even then, you've got to stick with Windows Times-Roman Hebrew, which isn't A Number one.  You might be better sticking with John.

TNR is probably one of the least desirable fonts for Hebrew.  Apparently you haven't installed the SBL Hebrew font yet since it is available from the insert symbol menu though I generally simply type in what I don't copy and paste.  SBL Hebrew has precombined forms which will properly place the cholem.
