Hello Friends,

First of all, my thanks to John Hudson for his fine work on the font.  I use it most happily.

My apologies if this is an inappropriate forum for this question (and I'd appreciate pointers to a better one if so), but it seems like there's a wealth of knowledge here about fonts.

I'm faced with a somewhat pressing (in terms of time) need for a font which can handle babylonian vocalization of Hebrew/Aramaic.  I understand that this has not yet been added to unicode, but since my needs are fairly simple, I'd be quite satisfied with a font encoded as regular unicode, but where a, e.g. qametz, looked like the Babylonian equivalent.  I could later update my files when/if the system is added to Unicode.

Does anyone have any suggestions?  Has anyone created a preliminary font of some kind that they have sitting in their files somewhere?  On another note, does anyone know if progress is being made on the unicode front (and where I might find more information)?

Thanks for your thoughts on the matter.

Best Regards,
David Roth

The
only progress I've seen on the Unicode front for Babylonian pointing is at www.lashonkodesh.org particularly http://www.lashonkodesh.org/bavelpro.pdf

This
proposal was rejected for being incomplete, and I have heard of no movement on
it since then.
