We are currently working on a POC (Proof of Concept) of local Indian language site.

Our intention is to just publish some Indian language (Telugu) on a web page in interactive mode.

We have gone through all the presentations on Bhasha.com. We also did a lot of research on net and found that WEFT (a Microsoft product) can be used to generate the .EOT files.

We downloaded the WEFT III and installed in our machine. When we try to generate .EOT files, it’s asking us the url where the site is currently running.

As the site is still under development, we have given the local .aspx page link. I see some code inserted by the WEFT tool in .aspx file.

But still the fonts are displayed in some junk way. We copied some text from a Telugu website and placed it in a label.

Can you please help us in fixing this? If possible any material / link in getting the .EOT files generated for our Indian languages would be of a great help.

Here are some details about what we have:

Windows xp OS
.net 2.0 framework
The label in the aspx page is a copy of data from a Telugu web site
No local font installed in my machine

Thanks,
Mohan

Is it mandatory to have a domain name registered even to test how the fonts look or work?

I heard we can do this even with local html files having the WEFT tool analyze the page for the fonts in it. Is that true?? If so, can some one in the group help me?

Thanks,
Mohan
