I'm new to this WEFT thing but have been programming for years. I'm baffled by WEFT's inconsistent behavior. I created a Felix Titling font object and successfully embedded the font. I tried the same process for a different directory, same font (forgot to include it in the first object) and WEFT freezes up on analyzing the page. I get past that by aborting and the font i want is displayed in the next step. OK...Lucky. I select it for embedding and set up my desired directories and click 'Create Fonts', just like i did with the first object. It now tells me that the font may be to complex to embed, but I've already embedded this same font using this SAME process. It also says that i may have run out resources...Bull!!! I use a 700Mhz PIII w/ 256MB RAM, close EVERYTHING and the run WEFT. How the hell am i running out of resources. It's just not possible on a 3k htm file with 7 characters! I'm also having an all night long analyzing pages dialog box that never advances!  I'm sorry if i sound pissed but i hate when a company releases a program and it just doesn't work correctly. I understand it's a BETA but we as developers need something reliable. I've already WASTED a week fartin around with a font embedding program that just isn't working reliably. My client has gotten a taste for the embeding of fonts and has really wants to got to the moon on thes. At this point, Microsoft is threatening my income. Can anyone help or at the very least share there frustration so that we may rock microsoft's boat a bit.I have the latest version and  I'm at a loss. Thank you all.

It sounds like you problems stem from the apaprent freeze-up (did the new directory include any spaces?) and your subsequent aborting of the program. Perhaps you could delete the font database (via control panel) uninstall and then reinstall WEFT. And try again.

Your problem may not be related to lacking system resources. I am more inclined to believe that the problem you are describing are caused by using an obsolete version of a system dll (t2embed.dll), a web page with some errors in it, or a faulty font.

I'd appreciate if you could check the version number of the file T2EMBED.DLL and make sure that you only have one file by this name on your PC, and either give me a URL or attach the page that is causing the problem. Do it here, or forward this information to simonda@microsoft.com and mjan@borware.se

You may also be pleased to know that the upcoming version of WEFT is roughly 10 times faster (especially the analyze part). 10 x infinity is still infinity though, so this may not be of much help to you ;-)
