VTT 4.2.1 updated for ClearType proofing

Attached is a Windows version of VTT 4.2.1 which has been updated to support the proofing of fonts rendered using ClearType® rasterizer.

Microsoft ClearType is a technology that improves font display resolution over traditional anti-aliasing. It dramatically improves readability on color LCD monitors with a digital interface, such as those in laptops and high-quality flat desktop displays. Readability on CRT screens is also somewhat improved.

• Open a font with VTT
• Hit ctrl+shift+c to toggle ClearType.

The .zip contains all the latest VTT files not just the .exe

Several VTT users have contacted us regarding using this version of VTT to hint for ClearType.

 

Currently this update has been made available for proofing only. Users can use this version of VTT to proof their fonts without having to install them under Windows XP or by making .LIT files to proof them using the Microsoft Reader.

 

I apologize for this not being evident from the original posting. Fortuantely the type is clear, unlike my postings.
