CharGrp.txt question

The fourth collumn in CharGrp.txt is supposed to be for  "Glyph index". For what I am doing, this may not match the corresponding unicode in the font (also will not match between fonts).

 

Does "Glyph index" must be setup to match each of the source ttf?

 

What about "holes" in the index, since not all of my glyphs are encoded.
