I am revisiting this site after a year. I had a charcater inside my OTC font but never used. Now I wanted to use it. Unfortunately this glyph is over-extending into the next charcater. Is it possible without exporting all lookups, groups and reimporting them back onto the modified ttf font? Are there any tools to export in one shot and reimports them back easily. Your assistance is appreciated.

Volt would not let you do it but you can easily do this by using application like Font Creator Program (FCP) which lets you modify the glyphs while letting the OT tables created by Volt remain intact and unaltered.
