Installing Font Validator

Hello -- I got a new computer and have been unable to get Font Validator to run. This is not my first experience with .NET and FV, but it is the first time things haven't gone easily.

 

I have uninstalled and redownloaded the two parts which I believe are the most current:

 

.NET Framework (dotnetfx.exe 23,698 KB. Downloaded 2/13/2005.  "Would you like to install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Package?" Yes ... "Installation of Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 is complete".) AND

 

Font Validator (FontVal.exe: File version/Assembly Version 1.0.1286.23890 (modified July 10, 2003, 2:16:28 PM) "To run this application, you first must install one of the following versions of the .Net Framework: v1.0.3705 Contact your application publisher for instructions  about obtaining the appropriate version of the .Net Framework."

 

What is the way out of this 1.0.3705 and 1.1 dilemma? Is there some piece I've overlooked?
