Hi...

i have created a custom encoding file (.enc) and i've placed it into Encoding folder as shown in FontLab Manual, but it is not showing in encoding menu...
i have also replaced origina agl.nam and STANDARD.nam with other files that have the same name (the modification is to change the names of the glyphs with those used in the custom encoding file)...

Comments and suggetions are welcome (and sorry for my bad english)...

Hey Mohamed,

make sure the multi-digit number in the header of the file is unique. As
far as I know any number goes as long as no other encoding file has the
same one.

Also the name that you assign to the document in same header needs to be
unique.

This is the header of one of my encodings to give you an example:

    %%FONTLAB ENCODING: 11001; InterPol Roman
    %%GROUP: Kombinat-Typefounders
    %%Source: FontLab
    %%Release: 2006-07-29
    %%Version: 1.3
    %

    % Roman alphabet

    A
    B
    C
    D
    E
    F
    G

...and so forth...

The percent sign makes the text invisible. So you can make notes in the
file using that trick too.

I hope this helps.

Best,
Hannes
