Yesterday a friendly soul corrected something in my Output window that made my Roman font appear as normal. Today I tried it and discovered that, when using the font with InDesign CS2 (in fact, *any* CS2 application), the old-style "1" looked like a capital "I" instead of the curved top I had installed for it.
I have tried (many times) reinstalling the font from the archive, eliminating all traces of the three font caches with YASU, tested my font on other machines, and removing the font from Suitcase and my hard drive. All the other weights work perfectly. I cannot erase the Roman face no matter what I do. And the Roman weight is the only one with the error.
Any help would be appreciated! (I'll bet it's a preference or some thing like that.)

I don't know who, but someone sent me the suggestion to change the hinting on the afflicted glyph. I did, and it worked!

I'm sorry I can't thank the magician in person who got me out of this hole.

Perhaps someone else will run into this, and find this posting gets them out of a similar jam. I hope so!
