Fonts displaying with extra spaces

Hi,

I am creating a web page which contains some text in Hindi. For this I have created an EOT file with the correct font.

 

When I view this in a browser, some extra spaces are visible between the characters. However, when I view it in word, the matter displays fine.

 

Does anyone have pointers as to where I may be going worng or what the solution is?
