Macro - Outlines - Autohint - Press control key and klick on Run. There is an option Do not allow hint replacement. The option does not have an effect. So the autohint macro is absolute useless for me, because I prefer the simple hinting generated by the AFDKO in most cases. This option should be the same as the -ns-option (no substitution) from the command line. Please check, if I am right.
Edited:
It definetely is a bug in AutoHint.py, but it can be easily corrected. Later more about that.

The option Allow changes to glyph outline doesn’t work likewise, but I don’t know, how to solve it. Normaly it should add a node on the top of the O, if it is missing, shouldn’t it? By the way, the command line autohint version doesn’t know the parameter -e, at least it is not listed in the help output. The help says, that the parameter is -c. But if I edit the macro and replace it, I get the error, that autohint does not know the parameter -c. Something seems to be messed up there. I was able to solve the problem with the hint substitutions, but my impression is, that the macro was not programmed with much care.

Well, I have fixed the hint substitution bug. The option allow changes does simply not work, as I have expected. It doesn’t seem to be a bug.
I have attached the fixed and the original macro to this message. Have a look at the bottom.
